Within the DialogPLUS project, we have been using and developing a range of tools and services to support teachers in the development of learning materials (aka Nuggets).
DialogPLUS Toolkit
Description: The guidance toolkit developed as part of the DialogPLUS project. It aims to provide an online environment that guide and supports
practitioners as they create, modify, and share learning activities and resources. The software uses an embedded nugget taxonomy as a language for specifying
components of a nugget. Practitioners map out a 'design' of a learning activity
using selections from the nugget taxonomy and supported in the form of adaptive guidence from the system. Users also have access to an embedded version of ConceptVISTA.
The resulting template can be viewed by other toolkit users and exported as IMS-LD for
final editing and packaging together with learning materials in RELOAD.

Reflective Learning Diary
Description: The Reflective Learning Diary is a tool developed at the University of Southampton for use by geography students there. The online diary, driven by a combination of PHP & MySQL, allows students to make a set of entries relating to their course work and then latterly provide reflective comments on these entries. Students can link to external web pages and embed external images into their entries. The tool is administered by members of staff who can view student entires and provide their own comments. The diary can be set up to provide template entries for individual course modules providing a more structured framework for students to collect their thoughts in rather then a free-form approach of most blog sites.
RELOAD
Description: RELOAD is a collection of tools for packaging content (IMS CP), editing IMS Metadata, playing SCORM packages and editing and playing IMS Learning Design. The project is funded under the
JISC Exchance for Learning Programme (X4L).
